Sura slipped out from the dens and stepped out into the sunlight. The warmth that it gave off, was soothing to her fur. The queen decided to lie down infront of the lions' den and enjoy the peace, because you never know how long it would last.

A golden furr ball came racing out of his den after his mother. He smiled as he felt the warm sun hit his pelt. After letting out a small purr, he leaped at his mother. This little guy was Binx, son of Sura. He laid on his mother's side. "Hello! What kinda adventure wait us today? Will I be able to go chase some pesky outsiders today? Or how about a hunt?" His green eyes shining with exicement. The young cub rolled off Sura and laid by her paws.

Sura heard little paws race after. She let out a little 'uff' as her son leaped onto her. He was always a ball of energy. "Slow down, my dear." She chuckled. "You will be able to chase them off in time, my son, in time. But we can go hunting." She said as he rolled off of her. She looked down at him with a smile.

Binx ears dropped at his mother saying he couldn't chase away the outsider. He was big enough! He went almost to his mother's shoulders. Then, his mother mentioned about him going hunting. His eyes shined with excitement. His first hunt, "Really mama!? I can!?" He let out a purr.

Sura licked her son's head when she saw his ears droop when she mentioned that he couldn't go off and chase outsiders. She was protective of him, and she didn't want him doing that, just yet. She smiled at his excitement. "Yes you can." She said standing up. "Come along." She said padding down into the territory.

Binx jumped to his paws. "Alright! Lets go! I want o catch something and show the pride I can hunt!" The cub purred as he circled around his mother with excitement. He was going to show the pride how he was going to catch the biggest piece to prey and bring it back to them. Not really thinking about he is small to prey and how this is his first hunt.

Sura chuckled at her son's energy and excitment. She wondered if she was like this when she first went hunting. She smiled down at him, "Well, if you are my son, then that shouldn't be a problem, Binx. Do you know why?" She said looking down at him, wondering what he would say.

"You are the best lioness ever, that's why!" Binx purred as he smiled up at his mother. He rolled placed his paws one his mums shoulders. "I'm right, correct!?!?!" He eached forward and nuzzld his mother's face with his face, "Because I think that is true."

Sura smiled and chuckled at her son's answer. She nuzzled him back and gave his head a lick, "I am one of the best hunters. And so was mother and her father. Its in your blood, Binx. Hunting is and forever will be in your blood and your children's too." She explained to him. When they reached the grasslands, Sura saw some gazells. "Watch your momma very carfully." She said and crouch down. Her paw steps light as she set her sights on one of the creatures. She crept up as closely as she could and when she was in leaping distance, she jumped and landed on the animals rear. The queen brought the animal down and bit its neck hard, killing the prey. She dragged it back to where her son was standing.

Binx lurked in the grass and hidden from slight. He watched his mother carefully. His eyes never leaving her. He grinned when his mother leaped at the gazelles. He purred when she landed on the gazelles hind and bring it down quickly. Once he knew she had killed it, he came running over. "Wow, momma! That was awesome. Look at my pounce!" He crouched down like his mother did, but it was clear his balance was off, so as soon as he jumped he landed unevenly and fell onto his side. He, also, went half the distance his mother went.

Sura smiled at her son's praise. She watched him try his pounce. "You have the right idea." She told him. "Keep you tail low and still. Also, tuck your legs in a little more. When you pounce, make sure you use more of your hind legs, they are the main power of your pounce." She corrected her son. "It will also help you leap farther and land more squarly." Sura added.

Binx smiled at his mother and listened closely as she told him what to do. Binx crouched down as and tucked his feet in evenly underneath him. He held his tail still and low, before springing forward with his hind paw. When he landed he stumbled a bit, but he stayed on his paw and made it farther then last time. He turned and looked at his mother. "Momma! Did you see that?!?!"

Sura watched her son make all the corrections that she said to. "Very good, Binx! And see, that one you landed squarly on the ground. That little stumble is ok. That is just because this is your first time. It won't happen, if you keep practicing." She told him. She smiled down at him.

"Okay, momma, I will practise it everyday! I promise," Binx purred. "I'll be a great hunter like you!" He purred as he nuzzled his mother leg. The cub then, moved away and practiced everything over again. He was going to get it right at one point and he wanted his mother to be proud of him. When he landed this time he landed almost perfectly, still had a slight stumble to it.

Sura purred at her son and his determination. She picked up the gazell and flung it across her back. "Come along, lets head home. You can practice more when we drop this off with the pride." She told Binx, starting to walk home.
